In a shocking and brazen act of violence, armed robbers struck the town of Otukpo in Benue State, leaving a trail of destruction and fear in their wake. The incident unfolded in the early hours of today, as multiple banks in the area were targeted by a heavily armed gang.

Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos and panic as the armed robbers, numbering approximately a dozen, stormed the banks, causing many residents to flee their homes and take cover. The coordinated attack on multiple financial institutions sent shockwaves through the peaceful town, which has seldom witnessed such violence in recent years.

Local law enforcement agencies, including the police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), were quick to respond to the situation. Gunfire and explosions were reported, and an intense standoff ensued between the robbers and security forces.
