Court of Appeal sacks APC Senator Abbo – moneyamebo

Date:

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has voided the election of Senator Ishaku Abbo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Adamawa North in the National Assembly. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Abbo winner of the February 25, 2023 parliamentary election. Amos Yohanna, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate rejected the result.

Senator Ishaku Abbo was involved in a scandal in July 2019. In a video that went viral, Senator Abbo was seen physically assaulting a woman in an adult toy shop in Abuja, Nigeria. This incident generated significant public outrage and condemnation.

Abbo was one of the few senators who vehemently opposed the election of Senator Akpabio as the Senate President. In an interview, Senator Abbo said the Senate President is behind the latest court verdict that voided his election.
